What is a Midlife Crisis? It’s often portrayed as a period of depression that we encounter in our 40s, 50s, or 60s, where we resort to alcohol or other vices to simply get over feelings of sadness. But, what if I told you, a midlife crisis can happen at anytime in your life, even at age 32. You can experience it even if you’re crushing it in your job, making tons of money, finding yourself able to afford whatever you please. A midlife crisis most often occurs at two points – when you have a sudden identity loss or when you achieve the goal you’ve been chasing and realize it’s not all its been made up to be.
In this episode, I dig into the deepest parts of my own mind and life, sharing my real thoughts and emotions that I’ve struggled with as an adult, a parent, over the past few months. I talk about the reasons why I believe this was a true midlife crisis experience and why I felt the need to share this with others, when I normally keep everything inside. And I explain why I believe we, as parents especially, need to seek out these types of experiences, midlife crises, to do our part to make the world a better place.
I hope you enjoy this episode and walk away with some questions to think about in your own life. And if this message resonates with you, please consider sharing it as my hope is that by pouring my heart out and sharing my deepest secrets, I can help guide others on their journeys to find the answers they seek, as well as themselves in the process.
