Who Is Mac?
Mac
Mac is a Millennial Dad in his 30’s. He is a full-time job-working guy who is on a mission to optimize parenthood to find a balance between parental responsibilities and self-fulfillment that many parents struggle to find. He began his YouTube channel, Dad Named Mac, in 2022 and has recently started the Dad Named Mac Podcast to discuss some of the more complicated challenges of parenting and adult life.
About The Platform
After several years of parenthood, I experienced what most would describe as a midlife crisis. Despite having a wonderful, loving family, a solid career, and a fair amount of material success, I found myself feeling lost and confused. Having lived a fast-tracked life according to modern societal norms, I was unsure if there was anything left to experience in life so I began to explore the fields of psychology and philosophy to find answers. And through this self-guided research, it became clear the pursuit of knowledge and understanding was, itself, the next step.
I would never have come to this conclusion or even sought out this deeper level of understanding about human nature had I not taken the plunge into parenthood. And so, for me, I recognized parenthood as a necessary step in life on the path towards self-realization and self-fulfillment for those that find themselves seeking something more. And I felt a sense of responsibility to share my experiences and the information I have learned with other parents to guide them in the right direction and help them avoid some of the severe mental struggles I went through.
Through this video podcast series and blog, my goal is arm you with the knowledge and tools to help you reach stability in various areas of your life so you can start thinking and understanding what really matters and teach you how you can make a difference in the world through parenthood. You’re not alone on this journey and together, we can become the parents the world needs us to be.
